A free home-energy audit now can save you money during the winter

Equitable Gas Company has launched an energy-conservation program designed to help Pennsylvania homeowners save money by improving energy efficiency.

The Equitable Gas SAVER program has two primary components:

  1. free walk-through home-energy audits
  2. a rebate incentive to those who invest in certain home-energy improvements, such as insulation or an energy-efficient furnace

SAVER – Smart Audits & Valuable Energy Rebates – is a three-year pilot program that provides free home-energy audits to qualified Pennsylvania Equitable customers. Pennsylvania customers who use more than 135 Mcf per year – please check your Equitable Gas bill – and have a residence of fewer than 4,000 square feet are eligible for a free home-energy audit.

These walk-through home-energy audits, which last about an hour or two, are conducted by certified professionals who can identify where your home is losing energy – and costing money.

To verify your eligibility and schedule your free home-energy audit, call 1-855-676-8347 (please have your Equitable Gas account number available, it can be found on your bill). Audits are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 750 customers per year.

In addition, if a Pennsylvania Equitable Gas customer makes an upgrade to his or her heating system, water-heating equipment or home insulation that improves the home’s energy efficiency, Equitable may provide a rebate to offset the cost. Click here to learn more about SAVER program rebate criteria or to download a rebate form. Improvements conducted after November 19, 2010, may be eligible for a rebate. Rebates are not dependent on qualifying for a free home-energy audit. Customers can receive a rebate with or without having an audit.

The Equitable Gas SAVER program is good not only for your household budget, but for the environment, too.

But act soon, because participation in the Equitable Gas SAVER program is limited.
