Dollar Energy Fund

The Dollar Energy Fund opened October 1, 2009 to assist income eligible customers restore heat in their home. 

What is Dollar Energy Fund?
Dollar Energy Fund is a non-profit organization that provides help to older adults and struggling families in our area.  Funds for this program are received through generous donations from Equitable Gas and its customers.

Who Qualifies?
Qualification is based on household size and gross monthly income. Check the following guidelines to determine if you qualify:

For each additional household member,
add $623 per month or $7,480 per year

When Crisis opens January 4, 2010, income eligible customers MUST apply for Crisis before submitting a Dollar Energy application.

How Do I Apply?
You must apply in person at a Dollar Energy screening agency in your county.

No one can send you an application.  If you think you qualify, call a Dollar Energy screening agency to make an appointment and be prepared to show the following:

  • Names, dates of birth and Social Security cards for everyone in your home.
  • Proof of income for all members of the household.
  • Proof of payments made in the last 90 days
  • Copy of a recent gas bill.
